Identifying and hiring quality contractors can be tricky. But the Revival Homes Builder Network matches you with pre-vetted ADU contractors who you can trust for superior pricing, experience, quality, and communication.
With our ADU Planning Package, you’ll meet with up to three of our partner contractors and receive detailed, competitive bids within a week. Then, we’ll review your bids and help you choose the right contractor for your project.
Get approved for financing
Loans for ADUs aren’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why Revival Homes provides both conventional and ADU-specific financing options through our partner banks and credit unions. When you speak to our experts, we’ll help you assess your project budget, recommend a menu of loan options, and assist you in applying for financing.
Design & permit your ADU
The ADU design and permitting process can be unfamiliar and time-consuming. We use technology to efficiently coordinate and automate pre-construction, so you get your permit approved sooner.
Drawing from our library of 50+ ADU models, we’ll collaborate with you to develop stylish, efficient designs that maximize available space and fit your budget. Our experienced architects and engineers produce detailed, fully-coordinated plans, and we proactively manage the permitting process with the city. How much does it cost to work with Revival Homes?
- Your initial consultation calls with our ADU experts are 100% free. We’ll also provide you with a free budget estimate, feasibility analysis, and floor plan choices.
- If you’re just starting your ADU project, our ADU Planning Package will provide you with 1:1 guidance to start the initial stages of your project. You’ll get custom designs and 3D renderings, bids from our partner contractors, and a personalized financing consultation. The ADU Planning Package costs $249, and the cost is credited to you if you choose our Pre-Construction Package.
- If you’re ready to begin your architectural plans and permitting (or have already begun these), you’re ready for our Pre-Construction Package. We’ll create a full set of architectural drawings and manage the permitting process with your city. Pricing varies by project.

Can I work with Revival Homes on pre-construction (design and permitting), but choose my own contractor?
Certainly. We’ll want to meet your contractor as early as possible in the design process, so that we can keep the contractor in the loop as your architectural plans come together.
How does Revival Homes vet its contractor network?
We only partner with the most experienced and qualified ADU builders in California. To join the Revival Homes Builder Network, a general contractor has to pass our five-point vetting process, which includes:
- Ensuring that the contractor is licensed, bonded, and insured.
- Meeting with the contractor to evaluate professionalism, communication, and organization.
- Reviewing examples of the contractor’s past ADU projects.
- Verifying the contractor’s public reputation and ADU project capability.
- Interviewing the contractor’s past ADU client references.
What if I already have a set of architectural plans and/or a permit?
No problem! Our team will review your architectural plans, provide you with a construction cost estimate, and have our partner contractors provide construction bids. We can also assist with permitting the project if necessary.
How does Revival Homes help with financing my ADU project?
On your first phone call with our ADU experts, we’ll ask you a few questions about your financing needs and recommend the lending product that’s best suited to your project. We’ll then match you to our partner lenders and brokers, who can accept your application and prequalify you.
Do I need to commit to the full project up front?
Not unless you want to! Revival Homes will manage every stage of your ADU project, but you don’t have to commit to everything up front. You can move as fast as you want and pay as you go.
Can Revival Homes help me get my unpermitted ADU up to code?
Absolutely. We’ll first need information about the existing condition of the ADU, as well as some photos. Then, a Revival Homes partner contractor will assess the scope of work needed to bring the ADU up to code. You can start the process by speaking to a Revival Homes ADU expert.
Does Revival Homes take on SB 9 duplex projects?
Yes! If you’re interested in building a full second unit at your home or turning it into a duplex, we can help you through the process.
